Chapel Sterling?

The ball field I was hunting goes back to the 1970's for sure, but maybe the late 1960's.

These medals are quite often passed down to family members. The priest said it was very common to bury these medals, usually with the deceased, but sometimes by themselves. I ask the Priest if I was in any way desecrating someones memorials by digging these up. He replied as long as they are treated with respect it is perfectly fine. If you are unsure then pass them on to someone in the faith or return them to a Priest or simply re-bury them. My niece was baptized last month and I took the opportunity at the party that followed to speak with the Priest. Very informative conversation. I keep all the medals I have found on display with my Uncles picture. Once again Okie, very nice find.

Because most 4 way medal designs have a scapular they are quite often gifted to the children upon their confirmation and or first communion.

I have something similar.

I Also have a question on my cross. I've searched and I can't find anything like it. But underneath the symbol of the virgin mary (the M with the cross) It says Sterling Chapel. I could barely make it out. but I'm wondering if anyone has any info on it. I found it on the side of the road in Tuscon Arizona 15 years ago...Just started checking up on it. It looks more silver in person then pictured here. But i couldn't get a very good pic.

I am just wondering about the message "I am a Catholic, please call a priest" What is that about? (I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, really just curious)

In case the person is dying, the Priest can read them their last rites.

Found this comment on another site

"Wearing a medal on a necklace or bracelet can be helpful and has a good chace of being noticed. I'm a first aid attendant and part of the protocols we follow is to check for medic alert tags on neck, wrist, and ankle, as well as tattoos on the inside of the forearm, which are becoming much more common."

I live in tucson too, haven't found one this cool yet but I have found similar ones. The Spaniards gave and sold em out from st Augustine back in the day.

Very cool item. As stated this is worn both as a statement of faith, and as an alert should one be injured. I scrap most silver I find (other than rings my daughters have claimed) but never scrap a cross. I now have about 6 of them. I found one on Easter, with three other items including the chain all together. All checked out as the real deal!

Sterling Chapel

I inherited a enormous amount of items recently and I started to go threw boxes filled of jewelry costume, silver, gold etc then I started coming across pieces that said Sterling Chapel on the Catholic Holy Cross on a necklace labeled Aco I think but I'm not a expert what so ever and was just looking for a little information thanks
