Came out of my doctors house with a blank and a 1957 D zinc Penny! Need help!

I think KT may be onto something. Could be a trick coin, but I know alot of my grandmothers friends would use these pennies dipped in some type of paint for their bingo markers. This was almost 30 years ago and I would try to use them to buy candy, but the stuff just wouldn't come off.

Normally i would read this kind of thread and just move on. I think it needs to be removed or closed. If I click onto it one more time i am going to open a can of worms. And i hate drama and rarely do it (open a can of worms). Theres my two cents. Please don't make me come back with more than two cents. WOLF

Wolf, I like your style! LOL!!

Uh-oh, this reply is going to make you come back...

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS!!!!!

BUT,

If you take mercury in your hand, put a penny in the same hand and rub the penny in the mercury, the mercury will be absorbed in the copper, turning the coin a silver color, forever ruining the copper coin. This could be why you have a zinc-looking coin. I too have one.. :)

Please don't ask me how I know this... Okay, I was a stupid kid at one time too and back then we used to break thermometers for FUN so we could play with the mercury!

insane...
