Calabash back after the gold today with Deus 2 on beach

I don't think it will be the dream detector but anyone buying a new excalibur would have to be a fool. The only downfall would be if they hunted rough waters..but then you have to think, 5 year warranty compared to a 1 year.. Come on Minelab, you've taken advantage of us long enough with that 1 year..

I'm hoping the DEUS ll will shake Minelab up.. at least on the water machines..

A lot of these manufacturers don't have the money to upgrade... Minelab should they were acquired by Codan...

You know what I hate doing on a detecting outing?
Hate this real bad.

Is changing detector models hunting a site.
And having to change due to one model some better at x and the other model doing y better.
And once I get tuned in with a model detecting in a day’s excursion I do just that get dialed in.
And when I change models my it’s hard to get dialed back in.

Most times those excursions turn out to be the not so good days too.

You know metal detecting can be like smoking.
You know the smoker who has to have 2 or 3 packs within arms reach when they leave home.
Yeah a detectorist who takes along 2-4 models to go detecting. Afraid they miss something if they just take one model along.

To my buddy Itsaring , Larry needs parts , thanks ,Earl. PS since the AQ.is belly up , email ML , we need a hot Pi machine with a guy jumping out of a plane , landing on my LOT

I hate to say it Earl. But it appears Garrett made sure Whites died!

Itsaring

Garrett makes a good carrot, the pi is a tank , Larry you just need parts correct, you work on your own machines , Tnss , I think.he just needs parts , not service . Larry scroll down on Tnss link , gives the address in VA. & the story of owners forwarding the company to Garrett.

Finish reading, edited , your to quick on the draw , typing is slow on the phone:laughing: ps I have a 1976 coin master 😉

Click on any site you want to try and buy a new Whites. Pages are gone. Whites is dead. Repair maybe til warranties run out? Stick a fork in it i suppose?

Itsaring

Basically what I read is the owners of Whites , male & female , built the business over the years like Garrett , simular as Garrett did the same , the owners in trusted Garrett for customers to take care of them on repairs , parts , Larry you won't see ANY new Whites , they most likely wanted out of the business , retire, move on , at least you will still be able to get service & parts , thanks to corporations between family built similarly companies , it's a good thing , I sold my DF , my friend still has a DF & DFX , thanks to Garrett to keep customers happy .

I still have several whites machines including a couple DFX's. I was making one DFX into a waterproof box but decided to save it for parts. Probably have to stockpile a few more for years to come. Got too many coils to let this stuff sit. As soon as the fresh drop season starts i will be testing a Detech arrow against a Bigfoot coil on the DFX. Thing about a Bigfoot coil is the ground you can cover. I am not looking as much for depth. But with someone's program it hits about 6" deep. But it is like using a 18" windshield wiper on looking for gold. The whole 18" and you can pinpoint with just the tip in pinpoint on a DFX. Don't know if an arrow works the same? Like to see Calabash in the dry sand against a bigfoot coil during summer with a Deus II.

Itsaring reply

The issue with Deus , upgrading coils to keep up with the big foot line , will cost Big bucks , there coils are HIGH dollar , say on the Deus 1 , the 9 hf coil battery is replaceable, but not the rest , however there updates are good , 300 plus a coil add another grand for extra coils, Larry build me a Tdi pro with a big foot :D a deep beach pi . 😉

Calabash back on the beach at myrtle beach with Deus 2 today.

I don't get this video TN... is this in response to what I mentioned yesterday about the South African test hunt?

If it is those chirps they were more than chirps they could mask a target...

Beach hunters know each beach can have different amount of salt content... where I hunt the salt is a non factor we have fresh water mixing with the salt making some spots brackish... now go to Florida and salt becomes an issue...

The detector looks like another tool for the beach right now but so far its nothing I can't achieve with the Excal or Nox... I am seeing nothing dug with depth...

I have seen some targets missed which will cause a target to sink but I cut them slack on that they are new to beach hunting... a couple of the targets were in the side wall on previous video's put out.. I was talking to the video move to the left its in the wall

Again any detector is going to find what CB found yesterday... the area was washed out down to gravel... the video proves only stability...

When I go into the water with my Excal its stable as is the Nox... I don't get any extra chirping or whatever...

A little advice... stop pushing this so hard its starting to turn people off...

There are many signs that point to better performance. At the salt beach. I am checking to see if I will get one in hand this week or next. I think the only ones getting turned off are the ones not looking at the clues.

I saw early issues with the Nox vids in salt water. It took me a year and a half from inception to get one. I do not see these early issues with the Deus. It will not take me a year and a half to get one either.

For me it will be all about: EMI handling, Black Sand capabilities and working in the active wave wash [which the Nox fail's at]

Actually quite a few good hunters are getting turned off...

Once beach hunters get their hands on it we shall see how it performs...

I only use the Nox out of the water although I have been in the water with it and its ok... every beach is different... EMI is not an issue where I hunt nor is salt most beaches along the coast of CT...The Nox's go pretty deep here in Connecticut... as does my Excal and past pulse detectors...

I still believe for me it will be just another tool in the toolbox... I would like try to one in the dirt more than the beach...

Where I live we have rivers emptying into the saltwater close to the beaches... some of the best oysters come out of the waters around these parts because they need the fresh and salt water... back in the days where I live was called Oyster Town...
