ENDED Bring On Summer!

Dang, I forgot to add my guess. Guess I can't join this week. At least one of you, even if you have the right numbers will not win. PLEASE read the rules. I am not going to repeat them every week.

The right numbers are only part of the winning formula.

Good luck to all. In 40 more minutes someone might be on the road to success and can put their obsolete detector in the landfill!!

And the results are in. Good luck everyone!

I think the odds for this contest are like

1 in 916,895

This is considering picking 4 correct numbers from 1 to 70 and why I say it could take a while to get a winner

You can verify my math (I have been wrong once ) here:

If you do just 3 numbers it is: 1:54,740

This doesn't take into account that 5 numbers are drawn. The odds of hitting 3 out of 5 (I'm not factoring in the MB because there is a way to make it irrelevant)
The odds are closer to 600 to 1. They become better when you get to choose 2 sets of numbers. If Scuba wants to increase the odds of someone winning in a particular week, he could let everyone choose more sets of numbers. But then it would increase the odds of a possible tie. I like this contest, even if it takes a while to get a winner. Scuba is VERY generous.

Three numbers it is 1 in 766. You get two guesses so I was thinking it would be 1 in 363.

The 4th number doesn't have to be exact and if you make 12 posts in a week and guess 13 you have that one covered.

The person that won the CZ-21 got it in 3 weeks I think. It was three numbers. So I made it a little harder by adding the 4th number and ATTEMPTING to make it so a REGULAR member would win. Not a hit and run member.

My goal was to get a winner that really enjoyed this site and not have a ton of folks join to win and vanish.

This is where I got my information. I just looked at the fine print. This was published in 2015, three years ago. if it is wrong please correct me.

My only other problem is a lot of regular member won't join, which is absolutely their right but disappointing. I was expecting a larger audience to play. I know part of it is who is running the contest. Part is they don't need a grand or a new machine.

Admittedly- I stand corrected. I know from experience Scuba is a generous member just thinking there could be quite some time before we get a winner before interest wanes. I am in until the end but I know I have come close to forgetting to post each week.

And so on to week 8...
