I took Noxy 800 with my wife to the old beach full of Iron and to my amazement I pulled two silver dimes!
First was the 1901 at about 11 inches in iron
Later got the merc in about 2 or 3 inches surrounded in rust!
I was digging the iffy high tone

Good to see some west coast beach action.

Stay tuned for this coming Thursday , 12/28 : CA is poised to get hit with some major swell action, that will coincide with some high/low tide times. Might make for some erosion.

Thanks Ron, I may go to a popular beach up here on Wed night low tide to hopefully find some silver or gold.:bling:

The swell train doesn't reach its zenith till Thursday. So Wednesday is too early, eh ?

Wednesday's high tide, in our part of CA (bay area/central coast) is 11am -ish . Which precedes the arrival time by a good 12 hrs. Ideally you want to go out on Thursday PM's low tide. Since the Thursday AM high tide is the one that coincides with the swell train. So by Thursday PM's low tide time (when you can safely get out there without being washed away by waves), is the time you want to go .

Thurs. PM low tide time is 7pm. So if I were you, I'd be at Stinson beach starting at 5pm on Thursday. JMHO.

If you want to do some beach action down this way, my house has a granny unit. You're welcome to stay for any part of the duration of the event. It starts @ , as you say : Thursday PM. And then another round of swells hits on the heels of that, on Saturday 12/30. So it looks like a lot of potential over the course of several days.

For Thursday: Not sure whether I'm going to work beaches closer to me (Carmel & Monterey), versus Santa Cruz on Thursday's low tide. But by Saturday, the swell direction dips slightly more SW . Rather than straight on west. So by Saturday's swell, I'll probably be trying Santa Cruz area beaches, since those face more to the SW.

On Thursday, high tide on Monterey bay is 10:15am -ish. So about the earliest anyone could get down on the wet safely, is after ~3pm. And even then so : WATCH YOUR BACK ! :jawdrop: By 4 or 5pm, safer. Low tide is ~6pm, so it'd be open beach till 8pm easily.
