With the weather extremely hot and dry here in Central Texas. I've been hanging around the rivers and the lakes taking advantage of the low water levels. Last few times out I haven't had to get into the water because there's so much exposed ground to hunt. I hit two different swim beaches yesterday and they both paid off in a big way. First place, I wasn't 30 minutes in when I got a 25 on the equinox. I was expecting to dig either a copper penny or clad dime. I almost fell over when I saw it in the sand. This was my second class ring in 2 weeks. The first one was tungsten or stainless and I was able to return it the same week that I found it. This one turns out to be a Texas A&M college class ring weighing an impressive 33g. I should be able to track the owner down fairly easy. The second beach I had to spend two and a half to three hours before I finally found a 9 g platinum ring. On the inside it says My Forever 10- 11- 18. I was able to add a little silver to the day by coming across a Mercury dime. After 7 1/2 hours in the heat I finally had to give it up and head back to the house. I dug a lot of holes but it was very rewarding at the end of the day. That cold beer never tasted so good :-)

Good job on the gold and plat...... yup we have been preaching about class rings falling into penny range and those that don't dig those high numbers can miss out on gold....

I dug this nugget ring last week, that rang 19-20 on the equinox. The Platinum ring from yesterday rang up as a 10.

With Nox I have dug small platinum in 5 to 6 range and my 15 gram plat was a 15 on Nox...

Way to go! Tried to get my brother n law to hit some lakes years ago. He lives in Central Texas as did a friend of mine who was in the same neighborhood. My friend was getting more gold than they post in the beach section. 5 to 8 gold rings. My brother n law still hasn't went so you clean that gold and Plat up. He went to TCU and has an 18k college ring. So he wouldn't like that ring anyways. GOLD LUCK!

Nice fatty there ! Some of those lakes out there can really pay off. Just gotta watch for water moccasins.

Nice job. I like the fresh-reveal shots, and the money-shot poses on the scale. Those are the "come to papa" pictures :cool3:

Don't get any better than that!! Like that chunker! 33 grams? That's bigger than the one I got in Chicago several years ago...

Thank you everyone for the nice comments and for taking a look at my post. All you guys that post here are a wealth of information and motivation.
