Wow !! I'm shocked..
My apologies for defending that kid in any regards...
I thought he was a harmless knucklehead, but obviously he has some more serious issues ..
I hope he gets the punishment he deserves..

that said, I think the modus operandi of Anonymous differs too much from what the email states.
1. They never use broken english - with a global network of sister cells, i'm very sure finding a guy to write a good letter won't take much work.
2. I have respect for many things they have done, disappointment at some others, but initiating a mass DOS attack against a mere MD forum, is frankly way below their scope of concern. They have assisted in the Greece crisis, SOPA, and many other grand scale events. This is more like a whim of a member (if he is one) than a crisis to deal with. True, they did attack a Mexican drug cartel in the past but that was due to one of their members being kidnapped, not banned from a hobbyist forum.
3. ... why not use a remailer? i doubt using an Aol account could be defined as "covering one's track well"...
Perhaps CM really does has a friend who is skilled in hacking though. If that's so, then HH over the next week guys, looking forward to seeing your finds once the forum gets reinstated
Whether real or not we took the threat very seriously because this forum was hacked years ago and was very difficult to get back... the frog child threatened a Denial of Service attack...

Didn't you mean the C_M section? He only posted threads in that section, oh wait, then there was his thread for selling coins which he renigged on and claimed he didn't have his license and didn't have a ride to the post office to ship the coins out after receiving the payment but had a ride to the auction.
It's like this, I very much and sincerely appreciate the fact that you banned this guy, but I am puzzled as to why it took so long. I consider myself a newbie but I saw right through him as if he was Saran Wrap. I've seen the drama that he has caused, I've seen the conflicts that he has started. I read from other members of this forum about his antics. Apparently everyone else saw it but you wanted to keep giving the guy chances. WHY?
Because we don't like to ban members... we ask them to try and change... or to stop posting such nonsense... I tried myself when I let him know posts like that frog post were not acceptable on our forum... he didn't like my PM and spewed naughty words at me... I have heard plenty of bad words in my lifetime 
He is gone, he is not coming back, if we have to vet our membership for however long it is we will do it... its extra work but worth keeping him away.

I totally understand your position and what you had to do. I myself, did not see "the frogs", but I read the rant that went on afterwards. And I, and I'm sure the rest of the forum, appreciate the fact that the bad apple is off of the tree. Thank you!

Thanks Vlad, Carol and all the mods for giving us this forum and putting up with things like this. Like someone else stated, he has committed a crime, law enforcement should be contacted. Maybe some time without a computer and some "new friends" would help.

I was getting very tired of his posts. The email from the non-english speaking "hacker" was probably a friend of his but it's always best to take precautions.
I owned a php based forum about 10 years ago that became very popular for fish keeping (aquariums). I lost everything overnight and wound up losing everything to some hacker in Europe.
thanks for keeping this forum safe. In my opinion it has the best users who have become great friends. I always look forward to talking at night in the chat room. I've learned so much in the short time I've been a member.

Let me get this out in the open first, I love this site and used to be a regular poster/ reader. I tried to help out detecto at first and then realized what a (fill in your own word here) he was and attempted to avoid his postings. His drama and such really spoiled it for me and I pretty much quit posting and coming around. Now that he is gone I hope to come back and get he initial enjoyment from the site that I used to get. Great job to the mods and admins on finally getting rid of this pest and to everyone else for sticking it out till he magically disappeared. I understand your taking his threat seriously but in my experience the loudest ones are usually the weakest when it comes to things like this. Again thanks for finally snapping the trap shut on that mouse. Good luck and happy hunting.
