In 1960, I made 2.11 an hour. In take home, it was around 142.00 and change every two weeks.. I had a BFO, and a good weekend could net 20 to 40 dollars for about 10 hours of searching, plus an occasional ring. Prior to that, I used to go to Seaside Heights and sift the sand under the board walk, maybe 18 dollars for three to four hours. I thought about it, wife made me keep the job..The detector really helped out. Today, it is all for fun..Last year was great. This year, not really out enough to do very much...Still think of the places where I had to clear coins to find coins. In one place, I used a probe, stabbing the ground, and prying the coins out when the probe hit something solid..Impossible to use the detector, there were so many coins.... This was in front of the ticket window for a high school field..Going back 49 years..Cordially Nad
