Amazing early Montana Detecting! Morgan Silver Dollar, 34 Silvers!

If I had to guess, because of the makers marks and shield style, I would say English. No matter what, that is probably one of the most gorgeous pieces of jewelry I've seen on here. I'm hoping come late summer early fall on doing some traveling. I want to get to most of the western states and see all the sights before its too late, lol. All of course depends on the virus situation. I'd love to get to Montana and do some mding with you boys. I'm an old bat but I'm a lot of fun to be around, well at least I think I am...lol

Thanks for that info, and for sure would love to take you detecting here in Western Montana, give me a PM thru the Forum if that works out for you!

Actually on further inspection (lol) and some sleep, I do believe that is a watch fob. Did some poking around and saw some close to what you have. Once again what a fabulous find.....

Thank you again, watch fob makes sense, and thank you for the kind words on the find!

Oh my goodness ! That's fantastically amazing ! That's a year or more worth o silver for me, and you guys tallied that in a couple, with a bucketlist Morgan to boot ! Keep up the good work ! and thanks for sharing !

Thank you jbrow! We did head out again yesterday and did well, will post story soon.

I can only hope there is some virgin place around here on California's central coast. Beautiful silver.

Thank you markkjones! There should be plenty of silver in your area, I do curb strips and private front yards with owners' permission, they are generally untouched, though some curb strips can be detected already but still some good stuff missed, good luck!

Well I did a little more research and I do believe it is HH (?) Football Club in England. I just typed in 1905-6 HHFC and some stuff came up. You might want to check it out. Just love that piece...😁

Thanks for the research Gale! Those last two initials are "C. C." so not sure if it could be a football club, I guess it is "unknown" at this time...

Oh shoot I guess I messed them up looking. I don't know how I did that, dang it. It could be a Christian College
with CC. I'm not exactly why this piece intrigues me so much...lol

Congrats on what was an amazing and memorable hunt.

If I may ask, I would love to know your (and your friend's) approach and dialog, when seeking permission. Maybe it's just the folks in that area, that are willing to say sure, go ahead. I wonder...

I was thinking perhaps "Country Club" like some sort of British society thing...

Hi Bill, thank you! I basically just knock on front doors of homes that look old enough to have silver coins, so pretty much late 1940's and older. I introduce myself, explain my hobby of detecting and finding historic coins, tokens, buttons etc, and let the homeowner know I will be very careful and respectful of their private property / front yard, and thankfully usually get the OK!

Man oh man David that is some amazing detecting. You are really blessed to have detecting friends like Jason. Your off and running for another very fantastic year. Congrats to both you and Jason on sharing the wealth and your great adventures. That Saddle piece is the coolest. Trapper

Thank you Trapper, and great to hear from you! I agree with you, I really like that saddle advertising piece, totally cool! Hope you keep in touch and best wishes to you in 2021 in every respect!

CC is likely Country Club, as it appears the owner was a golfer who shot a 6 under par, inscribed as -6, to win the medal. Beautiful finds and great read.

Thank you Jardine! And wow, I think you have it! I've thought the "C.C." was country club, but still have no idea what the "H.F." - Golf... that makes sense and 6 under par would be a winner!

That is an amazing few days of detecting! That would be so fun. Congratulations!
