A search around a WPA-built lake wasn't doing much for me so I went to a kids' ballfield and the city park at the small town nearby. Lots of getting up and down gave me 16 quarters, 19 dimes, five pennies and... a dime-ish signal yielded this modern half-dollar-sized token from the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado - an overnight stay inspired Stephen King to write The Shining, and the exterior shots in the original movie were of the Stanley. The other side pictures a Stanley Steamer car, same Stanley that built the hotel in 1909. I love when something totally unexpected pops out of a plug!

Now that token is very cool indeed. You had a great hunt. HAHAHA after watching The Shining, I wouldn't stay in that place for nuttin. :rofl2:

Pretty cool token, Kevin! Great pop culture connection... probably wise that they didn't use the iconic image that bottlecap posted on the token, though!
