Thank you for the very kind words Mark. These last hunts have been amazing to say the least. It has really put some pepper in my pants with greed to dig more. You ask what machine I prefer, hands down the CTX. It has melded with my style and needs in this hobby. That is not a knock on the "Nox", I only use that machine as a relief for my shoulder. (Torn rotater cuff). It still allows me opportunity to enjoy this hobby when the CTX is to heavy. Six years ago I was having a great year using the E-trac (over 200 silver) When a great deal happened for me to get a CTX. I finished that year with 3 late December hunts and dug 8 Silver's. I was torn between the two machines but committed to the CTX and the E-trac was sold. Best decision I have made in this hobby. It took a bit of learning to start the following Spring but soon the CTX and I began to understand the communication and Silver became a whole lot easier. If you ask the guys I hunt with they will tell you I just hunt, they will also confirm that I am a technical baboon. My goal on every hunt is to dig a Silver. I know that that is not always going to happen but to do so I need to put every advantage in my favor. Like most places in this country the public spots have been pounded. It is no different here. Still the ground your hunting needs to have history enough to hold the desired targets. The CTX with the 17 inch coil allows me to reach depth that most others don't. That along with a very trained ear to hear those little squeaks from 9, 10 and 11 inches down equal success. If life has taught me one thing it is that when you have success and you want it to happen again then you have to learn and understand the process and then repeat it until it becomes a common practice. Now 6 years later and well over a thousand Silver, I think I have a pretty good system that works for me. A bit long winded but you asked. TrapperCongrats Trapper on hitting 200fty and then some. There was no doubt in my mind. Wow 53 Wheaties, nice harvest. Lately I only seem to dig one or 2. The other day hunting my local park, (Eq. 800 field 2) I had some deep signals (7in+ ) only to reveal several clad dimes and quarters, made me wonder, if and how deep the silver was. Also put me in mind of you and how you consistently find that deep silver. Which do you prefer the CTX or the Equinox ? Good luck Mark
Thank you Ed. I has been some great hunting of late for sure. TrapperAn amazing total of silver coins. Congratulations on all your finds.
Appreciate your reply Jason. Retirement so far has been very good for me in this hobby. I hope the weather will cooperate a while longer though as this year has really heated up of late. Reaching 200 I thought was not a possibility until a month ago This year end finish has really spiced up life. TrapperAwesome week of hunting and congrats on the dimes and reaching the 200 milestone. That's a great accomplishment.
Thank you for the reply Curt. Somehow I think another hundred is out of reach for me yet this year. TrapperReally nice hunts Trapper !!
here's to the NEXT 100 and on..
Appreciate you reply Mike, thank you. There not yooper hunts but I'm pretty happy with the take. TrapperGreat job again Trapper. Congrats on 200 plus
Thank you John for all your kind words. The Dime Streak has expanded, it now stands at 21 and all have been Merc's or Rosie's. I was blessed digging another 6 yesterday. We are now back to the very bad weather with snow and cold temps. I hope we can get a warm up very soon so my year won't end. TrapperTrapper, congrats on the lucky #13 in the dimes to add to the pile! And to mention breaking the 200 silver count marker. The real story here, is not the silvers found, but the person who found them...well done again.
Thank you Anthony for your reply. I don't think I destroyed the 200 plateau as it is more like Dime-ing it away. Dug another 6 Dimes 0n Monday. TrapperBig congrats on destroying the 200 mark Trapper, I had no doubt that it was going to happen
Appreciate you response Jonny, thank you. Things have been going very good on my recent hunts for sure. TrapperGreat silver Harvest Trapper!Happy Hunting!
Thank you Paul for your kind words. 300 with the weather we are now having is not a possibility any more this year but if conditions improve a few more could be possible for sure. At least that is what I am hoping for. TrapperYet again what amazing accomplishment! And to think you have a little more time to get to 300! Seriously, amazing work Sir!
Dug another 6 Dimes 0n Monday. Trapper
Thank you Kellogg for your reply, I can't agree more about the CTX. I now have dug over 1000 Silver Coins in the last five years. Trapping has not been good as weather has put a real damper on it extreme high water has not helped either. How things on your line goes a lot better than mine has. TrapperOutstanding job on the silver count. The CTX is a great machine for sure, I love mine.
How is the trap line going? I have a few out right now, waiting a few more days to start setting hard.
Okay Anthony I dented it just a little bit more. hope to create some havoc on Saturday. TrapperWell, if you didn't destroy it before, you kinda did now! Congrats on the supplemental shinies!
Appreciate your reply Jeremy. You know I'd trade some of my silver to dig more of those big Pennies and Indian's as they give me the same type of thrill as most Silver does. TrapperThat's another fine set of hunts, with a great wheat to silver ratio. 1 silver for every 4 or 5 wheats seemed to be the average in the parks in and around my area for a couple years. Nice job hitting the 200 mark ! That's a super pile of silver to add to the rest !
