KT may have mentioned before that His Royal Father worked in the First National Bank of Hot Springs Arkansas from 1922 t0 1948, when he left to become an Independent Realtor and run his own business. During his time at the bank he saw many interesting events, such as the recalling of gold coins by the Federal Government, closing of the Bank doors after the 1929 Stock Market Crash, and the change of coinage down through the years. He was working there in 1936 when the Bank received a shipment of Arkansas Commemorative Centennial Half Dollars. He saved a couple of the Joe T. Robinson Silver Halves and one Native American/Liberty Head Half. The year was 1936, during the height of the Depression. At that time he had a wife and 2 young sons to take care of, so he only saved back 3 of these coins. Time passed by and in 1949, KT was born. After the Royal Father's passing in early 1981, as part of the division of his estate, we brothers met to divide equally his savings. Neither of KT's brothers were interested in coins or stamps or even our parent's furniture, as they had well established households, so KT inherited these coins, along with some furniture from his childhood years, and the Family's Sterling Silver dinnerware and formal china set.

So this brings us to today's pictures.....while digging through some of His Majesty's Family Archives, He came across these 3 Centennial Statehood Half Dollars. So KT has photographed them for your viewing pleasure, along with a 4th Centennial Half that KT purchased a few years back and made into a Royal Bolo Tie. The 3 original halves are uncirculated business strikes and the Bolo Tie coin was purchased in circulated but fine condition. To my Royal Knowledge, no proofs of these coins were ever minted.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
