Well, .....back to the park that gave me 3 silvers on Thursday, and 3 on Friday.

I was super stoked that I had found a Barber quarter there, and wondered if there might be anything older. two hours there and no decent signals left. I had marked a spot near the sidewalk where I had a miniscule chirp earlier. It was a one-way signal that kept coming in like iron, but I did see a 12-45 once, but every other swing was iron sounding....I wasn't about to tackle that one with a tiny 5 inch shovel...So after not getting anything but pennies for 3 hours, I ate a sandwich and grabbed a bigger shovel and went back for it.
I scanned it again and recorded the signal for future reference. It was weak and trashy and very deep. I had just dug a large piece of iron and wasn't so sure I wanted to dig anymore craters for nothing.....This time all I get is 1-33, 15-27, 18-30.......So I reluctantly went after it.....I had to cut several thick roots, so I didn't do an uninterrupted video, but I did catch the recovery, and I just could not believe my eyes. Here is the link....just a rough cell phone jobber....https://youtu.be/_m3_kmpkyxU
I had to throw in a recap picture of the three days' total.

That's a fantastic three days of hunting!!!:D You are certainly on a roll. Hope you are able to keep it going. Congratulations!!

That ctx looks so gorgeous ! Did you know you had silver before you dug the plug? Tone wise? Congrats I've only found one seated quarter an 1854. HH!

One day..... I will find a site like this.

I had a great schoolhouse a couple years back, that gave up a ton of good stuff, but I think you are going to make out better where you have been hunting the last few days!

Congrats, and Good digs.

Holy Bleep! Congratulations and a really informative post about that signal and how you sort of 'marked' its location and went back curious...

I got a little silver chirp like that, right along a sidewalk too...I know right where it is, I've been thinking about it for a few years now since I hunt this park often....In fact I swung over it again this morning, but have not dug it to this day! I guess its time...

quarter......

The target IDs were coming in terribly low for silver.....I recorded video of the screen-reads as I first scanned the target, to give an idea how vague the signal was.......I have managed some 10-12 inch worn dimes(thin Barbers) that read like pennies, but no, I was not expecting a quarter that's for sure. I had a target signal similar to that one that gave me something like a 12-30 at 8, it ended up being a 1918 Canada half dime.

I looked at your quarter....That one has some great detail , especially the date. I wonder if the arrows help protect the date some.......
Nice old dime you got too. I had one of those in 2014, an 1874.

:wow2: Excellent finds!! Congratulations!

Do you think it's virgin soil or do you think you're finding what others have overlooked because of the iffy signals?

Not quite sure.....

Not quite sure......Sometimes you just search these areas that people wouldn't imagine thered be old coins.....
There was a lady walking her dog who had detectors and she told there wasn't gonna be anything there but pull tabs......She said why are you detecting here? You gotta go find an old schoolhouse or something.......
I'll say the two quarters were well beyond the range of the older detectors...But The dimes were all around 6-7 inches.....
But I was amazed at the wheats in the teens and the indian heads there.....

Very nice streak you've got going! Whadaya think of that 17" coil? What a beast that thing is! The whole machine is a beast! Lots of great units of all brands shapes and sizes....the CTX is just a different tool...instrument...whatever it is I like it ALOT!;)

Oh my god! The coin at the top of my list for 4 years running! Super congrats, Bob! What a thrill to find that at the bottom of a deep hole - giving iffy signals. Amazing find.
