2012 Tri State Hunters Inc Welcome to Spring Group Hunt. Sat 3/24

I'm bring a rain suit and plastic bags/saran wrap for my machine. I don't mind the rain.

Ordered a rain jacket for my etrac a few weeks ago but there were shipping issues.....

Just saw the weather again. Possible scattered showers through the day, mostly after 5pm. But just small showers. No steady rain until Sunday. High of 65...

Weather and prizes...

The weather still seems to be the same. All the weather channels are basically saying periods of showers tomorrow. Not an all day rain event. So it might drizzle some. If you dont have a cover for your detector if it is not water proof, a good substitute is surran wrap...For example the only part of the Etrac the really needs to be covered is the speaker area. Water cannot get in there. The screen itself is ok to get wet. But to be on the safe side, just use surran wrap. It will cover everything...Hope to still see you all there...And I will say it now. Andrew at NED was kind enough to supply us with prizes including a brand new detector. Not telling you what kind, but it is a popular one...

Good tip Sean. I'm bringing some freezer bags to put over the display if necessary also. I've heard of guys hunting with the E-trac in a downpour with the machine soaked and no cover and it still was fine, not that I would roll the dice on that, but it's good to know the machine can take a beating... supposedly.

The Tri State Hunters Inc group situated here in the Pa, New Jersey and Delaware areas is having a winter group hunt. Please look on the page linked below for more information. I would love to see as many of our members make it as possible and even have some new ones join as well. If you wish to make the hunt, please join our group on the page...Thanks all and HH!!!

Can you actually call it a winter hunt when it is 70/80 degrees out?:p

I'll be a last minute addition to the party. I've never done a group hunt and am looking forward to it. I'm collecting some saran wrap and wet weather gear to head out.

Also, I've been having some questions about my etrac and am hoping to meet a couple of experienced MD'ers who might give me some pointers.

Thanks for organizing.

I hope you guys have great hunt and take a lot of pictures for us. Good luck and have fun! :waytogo:

There will be Dave. Thanks bud.

That's great John. There will be plenty of Etrac users there including the famous Randy and his 519 silvers from last year. Lol

Great turnout. Weather held off for a little before it started raining. Still raining lol. Some good finds today from people so far. I found a wheat and some .45 blanks. Misc clad. Can't complain.

hope you all find something that makes your day...and wish of much smiling and laughter and good times...sorry i couldn't join in...i wanted to but current circumstances kept me from being able to do so....blessings to all and HH

Was good meeting most of you, sorry I didnt get to all of you. Not much for me, a clad quarter:lol: The rain was tolerable till about 10:30-11:15 when I found the pavilion and shot the bull with a few. Had to leave early sorry I couldn't stay for the prizes. HH!!

Thanks for arranging the hunt Sean.

It was nice meeting people today. I'm a penny richer (literally) and a pound wiser after talking to people today. I feel like I know my etrac a bit better now, and that was mostly my goal.

Great day guys! It was a pleasure to meet you all, except Burnt, I don't think I got face time with ya. My best find was the 1885 IH, it waas in rough shape! When I left I had the oldest find but the group of guys who kept hunting may have found something older. Sean tha ks for setting this up and I look forward to doing it again!

Good seeing everyone old and new friends. Congrats on all the good finds had by everyone. Looking forward to some pictures. and thanks Sean for putting everything together as well as NED for sponsoring! This event would have not happened without your efforts and it is appreciated.

One of the best things I learned from the hunt was that I can manage hunting in the rain. Normally I would have not even attempted a hunt if I saw even the threat of rain, but I'm glad the gear held up and I realized it was certainly doable and manageable.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon

A.J.
