I just emailed the white house, but I doubt it will do any good.

I really think that they should get rid of the 1 and 2 dollar bills, and go with a 1 and 2 dollar coin. The US prints new dollar bills every 17-22 months, because they have such a short lifespan. A coin can last a good 40 years before wearing out. There is currently a stockpile of one dollar coins and no one wants them.If they simply quit making the dollar bill, demand would increase.
Our government does coin money and it does not cost us anything but the price of the cheap metal they use and labor.
The only problem with the current brand of $1 coins is that they are roughly the same size as a quarter.
Make them bigger and they'll do a bit better imo
The problem always has been, and still is, public acceptance.

Yeah, lets get rid of the reserve note. So when I decide to carry $200-$300, I can turn to my trusty coin purse that weighs 15 lbs. And where am I going to carry the coin purse since it will be too big for my pockets? How about my handy dandy European carry all.

Ok, I have to agree and wouldn't mind coins but with my slightly warped sense of humor the pic I get in my head is ...
Help police,
What's wrong sir/ma'am
Someone just stole my wallet/purse, i just cashed my check and had $500 in it.
Which way did they go
Oh, they're right there, 30 ft to your left, did I forget to mention it was all in coins...
Sorry, just how my mind kind-a works
Come on $5 coin!!!
This has ALWAYS been my arguement. I've NEVER been to Europe or anything, but my question is how do they do it then when it comes to the amounts that greedo_11 is talking about??? You all say what you say now, but when it does happen and your in your car trying to take money out or whatever the case may be... GUARANTEED you're going to be cussing up a storm even more so because of how heavy your "wallet" is... I just went to the bank today and had about $15 or so in my wallet (just $1 bills ONLY)!!! Virtually no weight compared to metal coins. I agree, that we need to quit paying on the interest to these "printers" just like we NEED the jobs to come back to the U.S.!!! Not too long ago in the news they were talking about how much more expensive it is to actually outsource and I'm thinking, you have to be kidding me right... they're just now figuring this out seriously people, doesn't take a rocket scientist. Man is this going to be a hot topic!!! I don't know, it is what it is I guess. HH \_
