1664 1 Real Cob

Wow! That's awesome! So glad you finally got a date. I Wonder of the rest are that old or older?

Thanks. All my cobs as well as well as most found in North America will likely date 1650s to 1720s. If the date is not visible you can still get a date range if the assayers initials are present. The design on the cob can also help to narrow down a date range

Hey everyone. Hope all are doing well. Just wanted to show you this sweet little piece of hammered silver I recovered tonight from my early river site Ive been working since last year. It took 13 cobs but I finally got one with a date:D. Thanks for looking

That is so cool. Especially, since you're talking about 400 years old! ;)

Wow! That's an amazing find! Can't imagine getting into the 1600's with a find! Thanks for sharing with us!

Congratulations on a super find. I know that they're around here in MA, so it's a bucket lister for me. Hopefully one day.....

Wholey frijoles! 13 cobs !?! Wow! Nice! Big ol' congrats on finding such a great spot and a beautiful coin!

Thanks. Ive actually found 9 cobs from this site and 4 from all the other colonial sites I’ve detected over the years. A one cob site is rare. A 9 cob site has got to be almost unheard of.
