I had 2 hunts over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday with NuBlu. Saturday, I found one area that gave up 90% of all the coins. I even had 1 scoop that came up with 5 quarters. I am pretty sure that has never happened to me. The rest of the hunt had few targets and nothing noteworthy.

I changed my detecting plans and decided to return to the same beach as I went to yesterday, but this time I would head south. As I left the parking lot around 6:40 am, I noticed a $100 bill staring me in the face next to the curb on the street! I gave it a quick glance and folded it in and stuck it in my finds pouch. I now walked to the beach believing that even if I didn’t find any gold at least I had a nice crisp Benjamin! At about the 2.5-hour point in the hunt I got a very clear and clean mid-tone. I pick up the scoop and move some shells around and there was the beautiful gold ring! I saw some writing on one side of the setting I couldn’t make out so I though for sure I had a dinger! :extrahappy:

As I keep hunting, I get to another area that gave up a bunch of quarters. Shortly thereafter, a tall. French-Canadian guy named “Adrian” comes to see me to tell me about his grandfather’s chain that had a pendant on it that he lost on the day prior. I tell him to mark the area he wants me to search. After 15 minutes of working that area, he tells me he thinks it was a bit further south. So he does another mark in the sand. I work it again for another 15 minutes before telling him I needed to move on. He understood and wanted to leave anyway as it was starting to drizzle. I don’t think he really knew where he had lost it and was just grasping at straws. As I was heading back, I get what I was pretty sure was a “foilish” signal when I look in the scoop and see :dingding:. This rose gold ring had markings as well that I couldn't make out exactly. After just over 5 hours, I was tired and done. I was content in knowing that I had found a $100 bill and 2 gold rings! A great day in my book!!
When I got to the car, 2 of my 3 bubbles were burst! :snapoutofit: First, I take out the folded bill and notice some discoloration and it did not feel how money feels when its wet. Then I see “Movie Prop Use Only” clearly written on the bill. :( The I get in my car with the 2 gold rings. I check out the 1st one and its markings were some type of junk writing. :( I then took the loupe to the rose gold ring and saw “14K” and a bunch of other inscriptions. At least this ring saved the day and what’s been my slow start to 2024 with only my 2nd gold.

Love the Rose gold, beside that pure butter look of 22k that would be my second favorite hue.

At least ya found GOLD.
Was walking with the wife and dog and came to an intersection and in the middle of the intersection were 2-$100.00 bills! Looking for their brothers, I found 2 more down the street, blown by the wind. $400.00! Got home and looked closely at them and, you guessed it, Movie money...looked so real except for small heading...
