I wonder if the larger rings are in the water verses wet sand.
I seem to find the thinner rings in wet sand and larger ones in the surf. What do you guys think?

Nah... my hunting friend has found big heavy rings in the wet sand... his best was a 42 gram 14k school ring... recently he pulled a 18 gram school ring from mid slope... they can be anywhere...

Nice to see some yellow! Nice find Marty, good to see that old GT of yours is doing the job. :D You never know where rings will pop up but with our conditions I can guess only light gold is being found. If you found it on the wet I can bet it was up high. Things sure are tough hunting right now. I went to the local beach and dug about 15 pennies and a bunch of crapola. Larry is taking pictures of dead birds. That says it all.

Way too much sand and little movement down here. We have not had a good storm resulting in any form of cut formation. It is bad Larry as you say. Looking at the beach terrain you can hunt anywhere , it all looks the same! A ring find is 90% luck.

thats a sweet little ring there,,,,reminds me of a little one I got with a heart shape and diamonds around it,,,it was one of those, "Oh, I bet its a foil top of a juice bottle", oh well, dig it, and Bam! nice job! GL HH
