$10,000,000 in Gold Coins!!

Wow

Yep...........I saw the article, too. You kidding me? Makes me itching to get past the thaw here in northern Indiana.

I just want to quote this...

" The pair are choosing to remain anonymous, Kagin said, in part to avoid a renewed gold rush to their property by modern-day prospectors armed with metal detectors "

My guess is that everyone else that sees this and is a non detector will presume if we ask anyone for permission to detect their property they will think they have a large sum on money....

Also more people getting detectors that only care about the money and not have pride like we all do with out hobby.

Great find for the people but i can see this not being so good for us.

I came here to post it as well and saw that it was already a 2 page thread.

They have a picture of one of the cans on this site:

I feel your pain, I'm in Chicago and haven't been out in months...Please sun warm our ground!!!

Just read this.....after I wiped the tears away....I scolded my MD for not being more sensitive to my needs.

"Cleveland" I failed to completely read the article so I missed the part about chronological order. Yeah, someone was planting those for future indeed. Wonder if some past owners of the property will try and claim their long lost (insert relative here) had reportedly buried some coins many years ago. Glad those people are trying to stay private.

Secondly. The part about not wanting "modern day gold rush with metal detectors" Anyone who watches "Diggers" will just run scared when they see us swinging thinking we gonna go crazy if we find a dime. Bet those coin finders have seen that show and thats why they are scared. :)

Just finished the pcgs article. PCGS got all 1,411 gold coins authenticated and graded. It took almost a year to do it. These were found last February! No way I could stay quiet that long! Holy cow!

Wow !!

It will be interesting to know what they finally go for.
I suspect it will be considerably less than £10 million ?
