Hi fellow Th'ers,
It was cold and windy today, but snuck a few hours in. A lot of sand was washed in, but I found a few areas that were the opposite. There was an area of purple sand where I was even in the clay base of the beach.

Highlights 1936 Quarter, 61 Roosevelt and a 28 Mercury Dime. A cool brass coin or button (not sure because it's part concretion). Some wheats, old nickels, clad, silver medal, and other trinkets.

Now for the creepy find.....I don't really scrutinize my finds when I'm out, only enough to put them in the trash or treasure side of my bib for later evaluation. Well I found a tag from a creamatory, obviously someone spread their love ones ashes in the water years ago. I think I would have tossed it back into the ocean had I realized what it was. I may send it back my next trip out whenever that will be. Any beach diggers ever find one of these before?

Here's a few pics of the finds...............HH, Dave

nice huntin! the tag seems to be common find for the beach hunters..have seen a dozen or so in the past year on various boards.

the "half crustacean" thing is indeed a button from the mid-late 1800s Ive found a couple and thats what I was told..was told they are conductors buttons...neat find! congrats on the silver too..thats always nice!

Some neat finds there Dave love finding them old coins. As far as the crematory tag goes I found the same tag 3 times last year, when I found it the 3rd time I finally decided to keep it

Wow you've got to be kidding 3 times. That's an omen to keep it for sure.

It's also a good reason to remove all trash (even the tiny bits of metal dug). I don't want to dig the same piece of junk on multiple visits. I always see holes with a piece of trash next to it.

HH,
Dave

Really nice finds Dave!! We haven't had a really good storm to move enough sand out to get down to the old coins since 1982!!

Must be nice being able to find silver at the beach. Looks like you had plenty of targets to keep you busy. Congratulations on the hunt.

Cool finds

I especially like the button. I was scrutinizing it and thinking "Looks like a train!" and I am thinking
"token" but then Relic Hound comes out with the "conductor button" data.

Now THAT is a find! I could see a "button from a Navy captain" but "button from a CONDUCTOR"??!!

You got a RAILROAD relic from the sea! That is one really cool find!

WTG!
