Amazing,
Thanks Nick.....
Amazing,
Congrats...I have to say, that's still in pretty good condition as most on those type of coins I find are unrecognizable dogs.
Thanks Tommy......I was hoping to find a silver coin in that field. I never expected a Colonial coin, so it was definitely a nice surprise.Nice save D4C!...and Im sure a pleasant surprise.
Thanks Toasted.....I've dug quite a few Large Cents and a Spanish 2 Reale coin from those older schoolyards. A lot of them had old buildings like you mention long before a school was built, plus many of those schoolyards are on land that was once a farm.Congrats. My best find(circa 1720ish engraved silver pomander) came from a still in use circa 1950 schoolyard. Found colonial coppers and cobs there as well. Must have been an old tavern or homesite previously
Thanks Mike.....I hope you'll find one soon, it took me 39 years to find mineDiggin4clad,
Congratulations on the outstanding find; this coin is still on my bucket list
-Mike

Great find! It is a true bucket list find for me. Congratulations!
In my 14 years of detecting in connecticut I still have not found one of these. I have been on 3 hunts where my buddies have scored them. 2 in Connecticut and 1 in new hampshire. Still on my bucket list.. Congrats on your great find.
Thanks tinsmith......Nice save, and I feel the same on the dirt being there forever.
