Breaking Beach News !

Not sure exactly , 3 ,4 miles or so. 40k peeps each day. Huntington can get 75k a day.

Interesting thought hunting Huntington Beach which by Google Earth's estimate is 21.9 miles long and 75K per day.

Hmm after one week 525,000 visits by beach goers.

figure only 1/2 of one percent or .005 lose some jewelry or 2,625 items.

2625 items divided by 22 miles = 119 items per mile of beach.

I am not sure how many ocean storms hit huntington beach to help group the metal items in heavy and light pockets.

But still some impressive possibilities. How often to you have big waves hit huntington beach each year?

sadly I am 2,100 miles east of Huntington beach and about 7 hours from any beach near Atlanta.

I was in San Diego hunting last week and the beaches were pretty chill. No one is allowed to sun bathe or sit and everyone acted decently. With that said, the beaches were sanded in and they SUCKED. Being May nearing June, that's normal.. Do something else until the winter erosion comes around and make the best of it. Local drops are non existent right now and the wet sand is like marshmallows.

Maxxkatt, work your math on this one. There is a beach near me that is 1 km long and regularly gets over 100,000 people on a good sunday, and numbers in the 1000's every other day of the week, and this has been happening for 20 years...
How many pulltabs do you think there are?:lol::lol:

It seems as the beaches open there seems to be abuse of the social distancing laws. Myself.....i just don't understand the lack of respect for our fellow citizens. And then to top it off i saw that the beach swarm in cocoa beach Florida left tons of trash on the beach. Not only are people selfish and arrogant they are also slobs. Some times i think the world is killing us off for a good reason. And we have the balls to call ourselves the greatest country.
Sir:
Maybe for you this is not the greatest country but I do and went as far as offering myself to protect and defend this crazy country that always seems to land on its feet. We are far from perfect BUT we all can have the chance to be far from or be perfect. Yes there are absolute pigs out there that I clean up after them but it's unlawful to litter but no tickets are given out and they also have the right to feel and look cool. Nobody should change or force them to change. Other countries would jail or just shoot them on the spot. Do we want that here ? I don't think so. Other countries just toss people off of buildings for who they love. Not here. No we are not perfect but we still and always will be the greatest. If we are not great then why are people crossing a desert to get here legal or illegal?

Thank you for your service first and foremost. With that said, the US is no longer the greatest country.. That ended in the 50's/early 60's. With Trillions upon trillions in deficit, China basically owning us, having our companies go to foreign soil to reap financial benefit, political figures in high office being slobs, hypocrites, and racists, having the common person being a complete moron who would rather watch a Kardashian episode than learn about current affairs, no one showing up to vote, the younger generation failing miserably at every turn including education, PE, socialization, current affairs, morals, work ethic and respect in general, this country is in a mess. Our health system is a JOKE, homelessness at an all time high, diabetes, opiate addiction, blah blah blah.
Ive traveled the world several times over and seen MANY different cultures. Yes there are some VERY bad ones, but there are some better. It just rubs me when people say AMERICA is #1.. Are we? Or are you just propagating and regurgitating what someone else gave you in the form of Kool Aid? We are a great country when it comes to freedom of speech, and the ability to succeed if you work hard ( interpreted as get over on others and twist the system) but morally, common sensibly, we are retarded as they come. Bring on the flaming. This is simply my opinion and it wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong or ruffle feathers but our political system has become a circus. We are just simple metal detectors. Dorks and losers by the untrained eye... Mostly retired people who enjoy a hobby of introversion. We clean up other peoples messes on the routine, and in doing so we look for the gold.
True we don't get executed on the spot for going to a bath house with a stay at home order or get lynched for being gay or hung for littering or fingers cut off for shoplifting but we have big brother watching, IRS stealing everything we make, politicians in it for themselves. Teachers making 35k a yr and average ball players making millions. Teens making millions on Youtube while Nobel Prize winners make nothing.. Everything is messed up. Not just the US. France has a WAY better health system than us. As does Sweden, Canada and even Equador... Things aren't changing for the better my friend.

That 3 , 4 mile guesstimate was for Newport Beach. I don't know about that Google figure for HB. But I can tell you the HB coastline is about 7 or 8 miles.

For the visual learners...2020 US Covid 19 death toll.

Jan 1, 2020: 0 deaths
Feb 1, 2020: 0 deaths
March 1, 2020: 2 deaths
April 1, 2020: 3,746 deaths
May 1, 2020: 65,133 deaths
June 1, 2020: 106,605 deaths
With those numbers it is no doubt peeking or on a down slope. But with the reopenings going on , I'm not sure we won't have a second wave.

Well I guess all the people "Protesting" will get the virus and should sku the Virus figures.

Bottom line is do what you feel is right and stay away from who you feel maybe spreading it.

..and yes again!

If the cops could just funnel the looters all the way to the ocean. I know what your thinking.
THE KOB will feel sorry for those that don't know how to swim. But hey , I gotta think they are going to drop or abandon their loot at the waters edge. Or course I will do my best to return this "lost loot" to its rightful owners.

LA is shutting down the beaches for the extended July 4th , about 5 days total. Covid is skyrocketing. What that means is the O.C beaches will be beyond capacity. Unless they shut those beaches down too at the last minute. They have the largest parade here west of the Mississippi on the 4th.

I been thinking of a new strategy for July 5th. No detector ! The last few years I've been finding more eyeball treasure left behind than with my detector. Including ; pants with cash and wallets , wallets and cellphones , bbq's , swim gear , chairs , nice blankets , etc. All sorts of good stuff. Gotta be there early and wear a large backpack. I fill it every time , but could carry more without a detector and scoop. The problem is parking is too far away to make multiple trips. Gotta pick and choose. Also dodge the tweakers , other hunters , and..cops !!! Good luck out there !

mmmmmmmm

They just need to inforce the mask , and social distancing , shutting down will just make things worse off as the US needs to recover , the only thing now that will change everything is a SHOT, shutting down, testing BS , shutting down testing - focus should be all to vaccine now. Whats taking so long !

Hate to be a pessimist but a vaccine will not be available until at least 2021. This is a strange bug we are dealing with and unfortunately will be a threat for a very long time as it’s likely to mutate in order to stay alive. In the meantime, over 2 million restaurants will close their doors permanently and the effects will only trickle down (or up) from there. The main focus should be on saving lives. Having said that, only the scientific community has the proper answer (or at least best odds) on what we should do.

You can put your PR guys on and give us all a warm fuzzy you are being pro active.... CDC don’t wear a mask.. wear a mask. It’s becoming obvious they don’t have a clue and it’s going to run its course. I was just glad ours opened.... now if they could issue permits and let me be the only guy to hand um out.... what a perfect world

The CDC at first said no need for a mask early on.. they were trying to save them for the hospital workers and first responders... my opinion is if we had them in the beginning there would be a lot fewer deaths and those getting sick... I wear mine all the time including working outside because its so dusty with lack of rainfall...

Man I really feel for you guys. My beaches never shut here in Perth and I consider myself lucky. You've got a million people with covid over there, here in Perth we have like 40 active cases.
Stay safe, a few rings aren't worth it.

I think you guys in Australia and New Zealand have much saner political leaders than we have in this country (the US meaning BOTH the democrats and republicans). They all came to an reasonable agreement on what to do very early in the crisis and executed the plan.
