Rutus Alter 71

I've watched a few videos of the rutus alter 71. Yes, the machine is made in Poland. From what I hear, people do like the way the detector operates. I am not sure though how it would perform with US coins...I guess everything can be learned with some testing.

Operating frequency of 4.4 kHz to 18.4 kHz with user adjustments of 0.2 Khz.

You can get from Detecknicks in the UK, £590 with 2 coils.
They have built in wireless module, just waiting on the release of the receiver that your headphones plugs into.
The software seems 100%, very stable, not chatty or on edge.
I believe there's a sniper coil on the way to.

Mineralised brick test.

I'm really enjoying this detector, picked up a well worn 1736-1760 King George 11 Irish copper on pasture today.
Being able to change reactivity from slow and deep on the quite areas to fast and furious in the busy parts of the field with just a few presses of a button is a real asset, so flexible, no fixed pre set factory modes for me lol
It also likes a bit of air between coil and soil, ideal as the grass has started growing.

I could actually put 2 of the bricks side by side so as to totally swamp the coil and still get the same result, decent little machine.

It looks like it. I wish it was sold and supported in the US. I'd be very interested.

Does anyone know what the recourse for service is here in USA?

I am tempted to buy, but sight unseen and with no US dealer to rely on, I'm on pause.

I've not been able to find one. Detecnicks Ltd will ship to the US. I'd buy one if I thought I could get warranty service here.

Looks like an amazing machine!

Yes it's a decent machine, similar modes to the Impact but with more flexibility to fine tune each mode to suit conditions, also concentric and DD coils, and i'd guess it's probably got a far faster reactivity.
It's just got a very good rating from the 'Searcher' magazine.

I made an inquiry to Detecnicks about the availability of the Alter 71 in the US. I've written Rutus too, but have not heard back.

Laura from Detecnicks confirms that there is currently no dealer in the US. She's willing to sell US Customers an Alter 71 through their EBay store, but service would have to be through their shop or with Rutus directly in Poland.

She says that a software update is pending and recommends anyone wait approx 2 weeks until that's available.

I'll be purchasing a new machine by the end of May. Right now it'll be either the Alter 71 or the Impact unless the new Garret offers something worth waiting for.

I just need to determine if I'm willing to purchase a machine that would be a hassle if it needs any service.

I got a very similar response from Laura at Detecnicks, recommending waiting until the software update, one or two weeks. She also told me that she personally owns the previous model, Rutus Jupiter, and there was one small issue resolved quickly after that no problems over years of use and ownership, and with Rutus' service and resolution of problems for customers being excellent. I am going to nail down the service procedure and costs to ship if repair is needed and then make a decision. It looks like a very nice and reliable detector.

Would you please let us know what you find out? If it isn't bad I still may go this route.

Honestly if I was in the market, I would get it. It reminds me of a wired version of the Deus.
