:mad: We have someone out here who likes to toss hundreds or thousands of zinc pennies to mess you up. Their calling card is all zinc pennies with the shield backs. During winter there is no other reason for hundreds or thousands of new pennies to be spread all over, since nobody is swimming or surfing. Haven't figured out if they're after me personally or what? But I know a pirate has several methods to handle problems. They might have to pick up their pants, underwear and car keys at a lifeguard station if they get caught. Might get in trouble going old school and burying them up to their neck at low tide:laughing: I took a picture of one of the penny's laying on the ground. Dug 40 to show you what I mean. And quit counting pennies at 200 on my CTX screen after I had to quit using my Excalibur because some moron doesn't have a life:mad: I"M GONNA CATCH YOU SUCKA!!!!!!!

It's hell on someone who uses a pulse induction machine. I'm not saying they'd get their ass whipped if they got caught. But it's a good possibility. The saying goes " If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough!":lol:
 
Boy those are fresh drops or dropped...You need to take the lawn chair, tent and set back for about a week. Wear a disguise....

Oh man that would drive me nuts.Somebody is getting a real thrill outta doing that.But if i was him it wouldnt be any fun unless i could watch you finding penny after penny.So ide say theres a good chance that their watching when your diggin.Next time keep an eye on whos watching in the background.Prob sitting in their car having a good laugh on your behalf.I dont think its another sand pirate i think we all understand how hard and how many hrs we put in.Then again we know how hard and how many hrs we put in so who better to understand how annoyin it would be to dig penny after penny.Could be another sand pirate but man hes a real pain in the @$$ and really needs to walk the plank!!!!:pirate:...Good luck catching the punk
 
Know where you are coming from Larry... we deal with the same type of moron up here... ;) pennies and brass rings are what they like to spread... :roll:
 
Maybe setup a trail cam. You can pick them up fairly inexpensive. Most will do both pictures and video clips.

Fresh zincs are easy to pick out on a screen. 12 37 on the CTX. When they rot we all suffer for months. You know what rotten zincs sound like:no:
 
That's awesome, I'd gladly dig fresh zincs..What an idiot for throwing out free money!!

If you don't want them, stop digging 12-36-12-38 on your CTX3030. Lucky for you, you have THE BEST target ID machine available...

Let the Sovereign/Excalibur guys dig those zinc pennies hoping for BIG Gold if you don't want them!
 
Do you run into other hunters on that beach? Which of those hunters uses a machine with a screen? You can bet it is him...

There is one of the beaches in my area that the same thing happens, and there just happens to be a disgruntled guy with a CTX that hunts that beach religiously... thankfully that beach is !!!! anyway, so I rarely ever hunt it.

Hopefully you don't have many zinc pennies to deal with up there. When the zincs break down and fall apart even a screen is useless. You can't tell Platinum or lower gold numbers. Best you can do is only dig deep low numbers and move if it is rotten zinc pieces. Maybe they will react different up there? Down here they can get a big white ball of sand form around the outside. Sometimes it will go down into the pulltab range. Sometimes it will go from a 12 37 to an 11 05, etc. Freakin' nightmare:no:
 
Worse than that ive ran into an awfully lot of those very very tiny silver punch outs. These suckers give a great high tone.... but being that small in the water they go thru your scoop most of the times. Ive ran into and posted my hair pulling when someone did that to me. Took me 3 days to get most of them .... i was just glad there hadnt been ruff water to move them all around. One couple i know swears they know who does it around here.... but he uses old junkers Lincolns he collects in a can. Leaving those tabs and caps you dig is almost as frustrating.
