National Metal Detecting Day - Atlantic City, NJ The Results

 I just contacted Joe... he will be contacting you shortly

Craig,

He was one scary dude!! I actually changed my shirt after the first hunt so he wouldn't recognize me!!

It was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for not banning me!!!

I also got to meet Epedemic and his brother in law, great guys as well!!

There are a few other gentlemen that I met and told them about this forum, hopefully they will join as well. I believe they were from the NY/NJ region. If you guys get on here, PM me. i didn't get a chance to get your contact info. The one gentlemen had a Ace 250 and the other a Whites. We were talking at breakfast in front of Johnny Rockets and later again after lunch.

Great post!

Wanted to post my Saturday finds and story as well! This will be part one of 2!

Great day, ran very well in my opinion.

Field cleared out quick, maybe 15 minutes tops per hunt.

111 total targets dug in 3 hunts.

Kids field was nice, they had a great time. They made sure everyone got a prize. If you have a younger one, definitely take them. Mine are 5&8 and both had a blast!

I really enjoyed Gary Drayton's lecture. Funny and informative. I am not a full time beach hunter and every bit of info helps!I only had a chance to see him, I am sure the others were great as well.

On to the good stuff..................

First off, this was my first ever competition hunt. So the hardest thing was not knowing how things were going to go...........

Get there early to register, I didn't and was running a little late.

Everyone I met there was really outgoing from the hunters to the organizers. It is nice to get together with people who share the same interests.

First hunt was my best. I found a ton of wheats, buffalos, coin tube roll of wheats and a token for the copper round. After about 10 minutes of hunting, I noticed a gentlemen that looked like PI Joe getting closer and I was going to stop and say hello. As I stop to introduce myself, he reaches out and pushes me out of the way?? I nearly fell over my detector!! As i stumbled to regain my balance, I get this signal that almost blew my muffs off!! I though it was a soda can, but lo and behold.............the MINELAB TOKEN#1 !!!

I scooped it up and dropped it in my pouch just in case PI Joe was coming around for a second spin. He had an entourage there and I didn't want to see what would happen next................

Man I hate you!! It was great meeting you and your beautiful family. You did fantastic for your first ever seeded hunt...Congrats!

Joe,

It was great meeting you as well. You are one heck of a funny guy!!

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and my family!

Hope we can meet up next year and have a drink or 2!!

Good luck this summer!!

If anyone finds any pics from the 3:00 awards can you PM me or post a link.

There was one with my kids and I would like to get a copy.

There was a young lady that was taking pictures of the prize winners from under the tent. Not sure if she was with SJMD, Demarco, or Minelab.

We call him the old cranky grouch most of the time  I don't ban anyone except for spammers... :D

It looks like you guys had a great time, it would be great if minelab held another "minelab days" event here in Mexico... I missed it last year...

Hey, Joe it was a pleasure meeting you (Bori) and the wife. Also, the rest of the forum members all a bunch of great guy's.

Sunday's hunt was alot better ended up with 24 Silver coins and a .925ring, a W&E treasures magazine subscription. I will try and post picks as soon as I can.
