Joe I here ya I have to explain it to flyguy when I get time.

It was taken out of context..

I don't wanna post it here. for obvious reasons.

Hope you and the family made it threw this ok.

My neighborhood looks like a war zone.

I just don't think about going out and having fun, while knowing there are so many people, that could use a little help getting their lives back on track, after a devastating storm. I live in a small town, and have enjoyed small town living all my life. Putting family and neighbors, the community first, is more important. Values are taught by example. And what I wrote, was related to metal detecting, because it involves how our neighbors and community view our hobby. Most everyone around you, while you are out having fun filling you finds pouch, is looking at what they lost, and how much it's going to cost to make things right again. How many hours they'll spend cleaning up, and making repairs. Having fun won't even be an option for many, for weeks.

I just can't see going out, the moment the storm has safely passed, when there are so many other things that need to be taken care of first. Besides, the people you help, and their neighbors, could hardly deny you a request to hunt their yard later on. Or when you are in serious need, they wouldn't hesitate to step in and help out.

I never got into this to get rich, or get into a race to recover everything. before anyone else beats me two it. But that's me, and I don't have thousands of dollars worth of equipment, and still making credit card payments on my investment.

Good luck on your hunt then, and hope you are appropriately rewarded for your effort.

See, that's what I'm talking about. You sir are making some serious assumptions about others. I as well live in a small township, in the country. I have a very old couple on one side of me and an elderly woman on the other. We live a 150 yds from the Brandywine River. Only four houses on my street. You have absolutely no idea of what I've been involved in over the last three days getting all of us prepared and will be involved with over the next few days getting everyone back "on line". We have three trees down and basements full of water. When I finaly get to go down to the beach, I'll be helping my son and his "elderly retired neighbors", that's what he's doing now. They took a much more significant hit than even we did up here.

Don't make such negative assumptions about people you no absolutely nothing about.

Hey Jamie. I'm pretty sure we've commented in the past. Sounds like you're familiar with Milford. I took my bike & rode on down broadway from Costa Azura down to the Bird Sanctuary yesterday.

There are a few houses near the Costa that will need to come down as they were undermined. Most houses down along broadway have 4' of water & you can see where the water came in one side and went out the other. Lots of sand, mud & debris all over the place down there.

Here's a link in the meantime: http://interactives.wtnh.com/photom...ftermath-in-milford/house-destroyed-by-sandy/

Talked to a friend of mine & hear Marnicks in Stratford was destroyed.

We just got power back on.
Was going to DETECT RI beaches but they are all closed and probably won't allow people in for a week at least I am guessing.
Anyone looking for more info on RI beaches I got mine from here.
Wish everyone the best of luck in RI and hope repairs go quickly.

Beach Closed, No Kidding

Breezy Point got it really bad. Over 100 homes burned to the ground and destruction all around. This photo is on NBC news by Mr. Chris Gavin. The photo is of his family on the beach cleaning up.

We probably have talked, I once talked without thinking so except for a few I'm a bit grey. Still thank you for the pics and the link, really!!! I'm looking around a bit here and although I was hoping to get out it really doesn't look good. Great job on the Link...

:wow: Can you imagine the total cost of this storm on the insurance industry not to mention the impact on business and peoples lives:?:

The insurance companies will make money off of this storm. They keep money is escrow for disasters. They will use every loophole possible to not pay people and when it's all over they will use the storm as an excuse to raise everyone's rates across the country. The big insurance companies never lose!!!
