Default Park gives up a 1763 1/2 reale

I was out yesterday for a couple of hours at a local park which was absolutely loaded with trash. I was getting a little clad and a bunnie gold earring, but it was slim pickings and almost dark. It was time to leave but I figured I would finish the line that I was on which makes it easier for the next trip starting position. Well, the extra time was well spent. I uncovered a Chucky Cheese token, a 1957 wheatie, and my first holed coin! It was a beautiful tiny silver coin, a 1763 1/2 reale! What a nice way to finish the day!

That reale is fantastic but the Chucky Cheese token is better. Just kidding thatís a great find, and in a park no less. Well done and congratulations to you

That's a reale nice find. Also fun fact: Chuck E Cheese's full name is, in fact, Charles Entertainment Cheese. Entertainment is, quite literally, his middle name...

Thanks everybody! The coin was a shocker and was found just as it was getting dark. It is great to find these type of things every once in a while! For one, it keeps the interests and hopes alive and proves the possibilities are endless in this hobby. And two, it again proves to Tom that colonial coins are everywhere out here, even when your not expecting them.

I will grant the reales (we find them out west after all). But typically NEVER in routine municipal park type places. We'd be in relicky type locations to get those.

Question for you: what is the age of that park ?

The park is relatively new but is built over old ground that was farmland at once upon a time. I also found a colonial hatchet head there Saturday.

I have amassed quite the collection of the Chuck E Cheese tokens. Now I have to concentrate on the key dates...
