Default Hunt in a colonial field nets a few keepers

Today I hunted a field that sits behind a house built in 1787 and sits beside a cool old cemetery with a rock wall around it. I didnít find any coins today but I did find some flat buttons, two were tombac. I also found the back of a two piece button, a toe tap, a pewter spoon bowl and a lock. Thereís gotta be a coin in that field somewhere! Ty for looking and HH!

Neat finds, hopefully with that house dated 1787 you'll find at least one really old coin, but hopefully more !

Nice spot! Seems like most properties around my way that are that old are owned by the state and off limits unfortunately.

Congrats on the super old finds. There has to be some Reales or coppers hiding there somewhere!

Neat finds. But building area looks to have great potential. There got to be at least one coin out there!

Great looking site Vic and not your typical kind of hunt. Some very impressive historical digs. Hope the field provides you a lot more including Colonial Coinage. Trapper

nice finds, there has to be some coins there, hopefully anyways.
I would run tight around the cemetery wall (not inside) and the entrance is pretty clear. Good luck and happy hunting.

Sweet permission Vic. Nice finds for your first hunt there. I'm sure there must be a few old coins in there somewhere. I blew my oldest permission yesterday, a 1700s place with Whiskey Rebellion history. A connection to U. S. Grant. I tried my best to charm the lady, she was very nice, told us the history of the place but would not let us hunt it. Oh well. Good luck Mark
