Nipple buttons are 1600's? I found one awhile back figured it was same time frame as most of the other colonial buttons. Nice finds!
Oh okay mine isn't flat on the back it's concave. Very pointy though I've only hit 1600's once that I know about. Certainly not easy to do by any means in the United States. Congrats again!
I think some nipple buttons could be 1700s but the plain ones like mine are 1600s. At least I hope. Flat back with domed front
Looks a lot like mine, but I havent had the time to do much research on it yet. Also has a flat back. My site dates back to 1600s so it's possible. ..sweet! Yours is in good shape!
Super 1600s find and yes, that IH Cent is nice!
WTG Toasted!
The green patina on that Indian looks great!!
After our week of snow storms, some of us are living life through you!
Yeah. Those cast pewter buttons go back further than our usual 18th century flat buttons. I'm still looking for a good one!

Thanks for the cool link but pretty sure my button is made of tombac. The few pewter buttons I have dug came out in bad condition. The 1600s nipple buttons were the first to use tombac but they were made of other materials
