Hi all!I,m new to this site and to metal detecting in general but am very interested to get started.I don,t have a detector yet but am saving to get one as soon as I can.Got my eye on a Garrett Ace 400.I,m in S.E.Arkansas,Dumas.We have a lot of old tenant and farm worker home sites here that I located by old map study,I,m pretty good with maps and aerial photography thanks to the USMC,was a FO for 81 mm mortars once a long time ago.I,m learning a lot by perusing this site and gaining knowledge about how to proceed once i have my detector in hand.Thanks all of you for your informative posts.Jim Campbell.

I traveled through your town back in the 90's while on our way down to Louisiana. Was amused with the town's name and also nearby McGehee. Nice area down there. My sister lives way up north in Mountain Home.
 
Welcome Dick, when i hear Dumas i am reminded of a great quote from a now politically incorrect show "I ain't no Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas!"
