My father got a T2 recently (new) and I was testing it in his back yard. The pin point depth reading was off it seemed. A 3 inch dime was reading 5. A 4 inch dime was reading 6..

Now I just turned it on GB set sensitivity and hunted.. Am I missing something?

How high you have the coil off the ground can matter. I don’t think my T2 is that accurate all the time, either. It changes based on moisture content from what I can tell. It really doesn’t matter it’s just a general idea. I still find plenty of deep stuff.

Okay great. Thanks for the info.

The important thing is if it pinpoints target location accurately. The depth isn't 100% accurate on any machine or object. As mentioned before, conditions can interfere to some degree with this, as well as object size.

Oldest coin- 1946 wheatie.
