Whats this stone?

I hit the honey hole again, more sand is in but I deployed some of my secret tactics and snagged this 7.45g 18k gold ring.
Question is, whats the stone? It's got no scratches on it so it's hard. The light plays through it and it's a greenish/blueish/yellowish colour. Moves the diamond tester 3 bars.
I'm thinking sapphire maybe? It's been polished and left mostly in it's natural shape, I really like it.

:dingding: That ring looks like it may be stunner when polished up. Put up a close-up of the stone if you can.

I'm leaning towards aquamarine... nice looking find... take a better picture of the stone please..

It's really hard to describe or catch it in a photo. The stone changes in the light and depending on how you're holding it. It looks to me like it's mostly in it's natural shape and just polished on top.
There's no makers mark or stamps on the ring, acid test holds at 18k and 22k acid slowly eats it.

Now it looks similar to a moonstone but I can't see them putting that in a 18k setting...

I don't know... its a different stone for sure you have there...

I doubt it's a moonstone, they aren't hard enough to survive being rolled around in the rocks for the amount of time it takes for 18k gold to tarnish like that. I've found plenty of moonstone set in silver and it doesn't look the same, they usually have horiztonal and verticals lines in them.

It looks like a piece of marble someone put in there but I know its not...

I said it looked like a moonstone there are many different types of moonstones out there... just google and hit images nothing like yours but a couple looked interesting I can see its not a moonstone...

Almost looks like as cats eye stone as well...

It is the all seeing eye.....don't look into it! Will suck your brains right out:lol:

Hmm, possibly fire opal? You gotta stop showing her the gold, the wife only gets the silver  A wise pirate taught me this :cool3:

You can also give her stainless steel mine loves the stainless I give her  they like shiny things just no gold or platinum... let them get their own detector and find it... its not a fire opal...

I found some black opal and diamonds in a ring that was lost for a good bit. The black opal didn't appear to hold up real well in the ocean. Had to sand a white haze off of mine before i polished it.
