How old is this general service button?

I dug this up today (along with 3 war nickels and a silver GW) in the yard of an early 1900's home. Does anyone have a rough estimate on how old this button might be? Thanks!

Maybe 1850-1875 or so.

I only know of one eagle button that had an iron back, and that was a cuff size used on the hat. Iron wasn't used because it would cause rust to appear on the uniform. On the hat it set against the leather ban. I would think you have a fashion button, and those were popular in the 30s.

Interesting... That would make sense since the house isn't incredibly old. However, I did see a similar looking iron back coat button HERE. Thanks for the info!
