Hi all,
Not been out a while as its been very wet and the fields are just mud.
Last night was cold and perhaps the first quarter inch of earth was frozen so much better for walking.
Same field i have basically found everything in it just seems to want to keep giving.
Fantastic 1708 silver Queen Anne crown, minted in Edinburgh.
This was minted the year after the Union of the crowns and the formation of the United Kingdom officially so Queen Anne in a way was the first monarch of the UK.
Value around 3 to $ 600.
I have added to my gallery also.
Absolutely delighted with this find, 300 plus years in the ground !

Thank you Kaufenanger.
Theres no better feeling than cleaning something and seeing the likes of that coin.
But i get a buzz no matter what comes out the ground coin wise, everyone has a story to tell.

Wow what a killer of a find! Huge congrats.

Quite upset to say the least. I'm sure that was worth a great deal back then and quite possibly all he had. Still a stellar save and a great find. Congrats. Good luck on your return trip. Mark

Great find! I watch a few GB YT'ers and see those very old coins including Romans dug up over there.

Good show. Here in CA, we are "all over ourselves" to find stuff like that !

Thanks again guys.
Thing is Tom i really like seeing all the finds the members put on here, far more of a range of different things over there.
Im very lucky in the few old / rare coins unearthed but i love seeing the rings and other items that show up on here. I have probably dug up 2 tractors and 6 ploughs and have enough horseshoes to keep the population of New York in good luck for ever !!
Whether its a hundred or 500 years old, someone dropped it, someone likely looked for it and in the worst case someone may of been severely punished for losing it. Part of the intrigue and enjoyment is that you will never know the story behind the object. Best of luck guys.
