Wow it keeps coming! That is a great seal button on the bottom right. It looks like it might have been black at one time. If so, it would be WWI. They were black or gilt from 1910-1917, black only from 1917-1923, and gilt only thereafter. Nice hunting.

Spent some more time at the townsite today, but the yields werent as good as yesterday. I decided to hunt mostly closer to the river where most of the good signals ended up being junk, or something deep and huge that was better left alone.

Only 5 coins today: a 1924 buff, and 4 wheats....most of the wheats I have found here are in the teens.

Relics werent bad: a couple of bottle caps, Im sure the Old Quaker brand was purely medicinal! Zip tab, buttons, 2 minser tags, broken teaspoon, half bit toke for drink (F.H. MEYER on the reverse), the folded object is a token, and a neat brooch that still had its stones and color.

Illustration of the townsite (date unknown). Off of the pic and to the right was a pool hall that burned down in 1930. We have found several coins and tokens in that area. I have more old photos that I came across, and will post them later.

Thanks for looking, and HH!

The townsite when we first started hunting in late April. My buddy is near one of the old roads. The alfalfa is starting to make it a challenge to swing in some places.

Thanks for looking, and HH!

Went out to the townsite today to meet up with my buddy for some more huntin. When I got there, the hands were spraying the field, so I stayed up on the hillside and hunted where the store once sat. I found a homemade chisel there, and a little gold colored box (snuff?). Unfortunately my buddy was on the field and went over by the river upwind to wait till the sprayer was done.

Non dug example of the oil lamp dial. Didnt know what it was until I looked up the manufacturers name.

1946 aerial view of the townsite.

A neighbor stopped by to ask about what we were finding, so I spent some time talking with him. Great guy! I went back to where I was hunting the day before, and found most of the other items. Most of the other stuff I dug was junk.

Thanks for looking, and HH!
