I found a medallion while detecting a park that used to be a golf course. Trying to figure out a date range for it. It has Prince Hall, Aug 16-19, Boston and 36th Imperial Council on it. (Nothing at all on the back). I am guessing it was given out for some kind of gathering between August 16th and 19th but what year is a mystery to me.

Quick search shows it is related to the Freemasons. Maybe try contacting the Boston lodge to ask them.

Try the Massachusetts Grand Lodge site.
Prince Hall are Black Freemasons. They were segregated until relatively recently, but have been integrated. I don't know how much of their archived information has been shared yet, but it should be available somewhere.

Probably Prince Hall Shriners. You could check their webpage :) Think that medal would be from 1930 or thereabouts

it has the lodge insignia on it so I will keep trying to contact the lodge. Their Facebook page seems wonky as I cannot create a post but perhaps I can reply to one of their posts. I also sent them a DM that may or may not have gone through. I will post an update, assuming I hear back from the lodge :p

Finally heard back from the lodge. They could not date it but was interested in the item so I mailed it out to them today. There is a Prince Hall lodge in Chicago IL so perhaps someone from that lodge went out east and brought it back.

I also drove to a nearby Marine recruiting station and gave them part of a hat pin I found detecting (the same park as the medallion). The hat pin is from WWII or later.

Done detecting for a bit as the ground is bone dry so any plugs would probably not make it.
