Default Electrolysis Question

Hello everyone. I Use electrolysis to remove rust from old axe heads etc. Dies anyone know how to remove the black residue that won't rinse off?

I use one of those 3M green scrub pads with Dawn dish soap. Works pretty well. Good luck.

I would not remove that. That is the patina of an iron find. Its like you brush your old silver findings to glamour. It is the rest of the original surface of the iron.

Agree'd!! I would either seal it with an oil or with a clear coat of some sort.
