Found this in an area where I found 1700 relics. No clue. Any ideas? About the size of a quarter...

No idea, definitely looks as though it Had a pin back. Nice find.

I think your last picture posted looks the correct upright position, and seems to be a pin, but I am not sure what from. Neat find!

A very long shot would be a "leather strap tip protector ". They had two like tack things on the back. It would be hammered through the leather and bent over.
