What's the best way to track down a home owner to get permission of their home is for sale and the sales people won't give out the info

Courthouse records most likely, go their armed with the address and you should be able to find out who the owner is. It would have to have really good potential to go to those lengths though.

You should be a able to find an online property search site for your local county similar to the following site I found as an example.

(you can even look up your own property to make sure your info is accurate)

http://www.jocogov.org/dept/appraiser/property-data

That site says it is illegal to use the info to try to sell something to the owners, but since you are not trying to sell anything I guess it would be okay.

Well,,have the folks who have house for sale,,,do they still live in local area???

Did they move and buy another home??
They Amy have kept same phone number.

Utilities folks,,,you might go there and get info.

Courthouse deeds may show if the property is truly in the owner's name- sometimes it is not.

License plate numbers of visitors to house,,,if the owner you might find out.

Talk to neighbors,,they may have info.

Any stores close by,,they might know some thing.

Property tax records are public,, might try your trustees office.

Any local law dogs you can talk to.

Local post office might have info.
