Nothing crazy....I had spoken with an older gentleman about detecting at his 1810 rental property last week but he seemed hesitant and said he had to talk it over with his tenant first. I had the day off and decided to take a drive out there and drop in on him. Well, that was an hour drive wasted....He sent the wife out to deliver the big fat N O. oh well......It happens.....I had noticed an old vacant looking schoolhouse with a few playground equipment sitting out back. I spoke with a neighbor and he said it had been vacant for many years and he said people metal detect there all the time. Between that front yard and the village park right adjacent I figured its worth a looksie.....
I snagged a merc in the front yard immediately at around 5 inches. I will admit , that one was a strange murky scrappy signal ....Not sure if it was iron in the hole or power lines or the tree roots or what , but I was surprised no one had snagged that one....The rest of the surroundings yielded very very little, just some clad.....a few hours later I got a sweet deep high tone just in front of the old baseball field. i was excited about the depth and impressed, since it seems like its been a long time since the CTX has sniffed out a deep target for me....Anyway....I decided to record the dig. I was getting a variety of target IDs on this one, which I guess isn't unusual for 8-10 inch targets ...It wasn't a special enough coin to edit and post the video, but I'll attach a few screenshots for the heck of it.....
I did snag two modern silvers at an early 1800s permission a few days ago, and a surprise GW left over at a playground I've hammered a bizzillion times ....But I'm still fuming about not landing the 3 1800 houses I asked at and getting nothing from the 2 1830s yards
I do have a permission at a sweet sweet 1835 yard I have very high hopes for.....This ones really off the beaten path and very hard for door knockers to approach..... for the owner to get back in town and call me....long story......
So anyway....hoppefully I will have a really sweet coin or two to post next time.....up to number 34 now anyway......HH everyone....
