A large button found

This is the largest button I have ever found. It is larger than a half dollar and looks to be made of copper. It has a basket weave pattern and the shank is still present. How old would it be? I assume it was a coat button.
I do want to add that the button is not flat but concave.

Very cool button, Barney! The basket weave pattern is awesome! No doubt that it has some age to it...just a question of how much. It's hard to tell just from the photos, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if that's an 18th century "dandy" button. Fantastic find!
