I went detecting at a town about an hour from where I live. The town only has a dozen houses still being lived in. I ended up getting 5 Silvers, 2 IHP's, an old token and 25 wheats.
I like the fact that the token, which was made in 1890, has a hole punched in it with a square nail.

Great pictures !

Question: What type spots, within this little burg, are you hunting ? Eg.: Is there a park or school there ? Or are you doing the yards of boarded up homes ? Since it sounds like you referenced that only certain homes are "still being lived in". That makes it sound like others are vacant ?

Thanks Tom! I did an empty lot this morning that I got permission for last night. I think a couple of houses used to be on it. I asked permission from a different person in the same town for the yard of an old abandoned house they own but alas she said I could only do the right of way since her husband was going to mow the yard today.....but that right of way coughed up all kinds of goods! Last I went to a town about 8 miles away and did a door knock where I got permission at an old house which got me the 2 nice IHP'S and token.
I've been trying to get more permissions in these 2 little towns but it is tough tracking down who owns the old houses and empty lots. Turned out good today though!

It's true, it's true, where the Wheaties are the silver is also. Nice hunt, congrats.

I vaguely know the area you speak of. In 2001 the day after Christmas I traveled with my gf to stay in Williston, N.D. via a northerly, circuitrous route first past the outskirts of Minot then south to Williston. Went to her brothers funeral at a very small town a few miles northwest of there I think it was
Coldest 10 a.m. funeral I ever attended!

Congrats on the outstanding hunt. You must have the most neutral ground in the U.S.. Either that or you have a time machine in your garage. My mind is blown every time I see your IHP's! Looks like someone dropped them yesterday. Keep up the good work.

Wow - that's a real haul of silver, IHCs and wheats - very nice hunt! I'll bet there's more to be found there.

I don't even know what "celluloid starch" is, but that token is super cool.
