Found this cross (Egyptian style ankh or green orthodox) in an area with 1940s coins in the same zone at the beach. Is it a pendant? Seems like an odd wire type thing it’s mounted on. Not sure if it was a necklace or not. Still pretty cool looking.

That's hilarious! Cool find though...

You know, the first time I ever went metal detecting in Peru my first find was a marijuana grinder buried in the sand. I should check and see if I still have photos of that. I left it in Peru with my brother-in-law rather than bring it through customs. I didnt see any residue but that may not have been wise. It did look like it had been exposed to saltwater a bit.
