Spent an hour at beach #1 and the waves were up, tide was up, and the targets were few. Drove to beach #2 and found much better conditions. I didn't stop digging for an hour and ended up with 2 silver rings, 1 merc, a 14k gold ring, a wheat, a couple of 1940's nickels, a dollar coin, some conglomerates, and one of those torpedo magnets.

It's always a good day as long as I'm digging.

Getting closer to my goals, but the silver is going to be tough.

Happy Hunting everyone!

Sweet finds

Maybe I need to drive around, as I get to the beach and start hunting the same stretch of beach , you did great congrat's , Earl:thumbsup::dingding::dingding:

:dingding: Congrats on a great hunt! That driving around thing isn't feasible for us down here. When I went to California last year I could see where you you could do that as parking is an easier endeavor.

Great hunt , hitting a couple beaches. Like Miami , Calif has beaches that stretch for miles. If I have to drive a ways to get to one , I usually stay. Besides the exercise , I can cover alot of beach. Sometimes it doesn't always work out , but my binoculars help spot areas where I pick up the pace to get to a more promising area.

Love the 14k signet! I would mark that spot! Not sure how fast the beach's change there but where I find one, the odds are good to find another. Good Luck!

Thanks! Coming from the guy who finds 100's of gold rings that means a lot! The spot is one that other guys pass right over, probably because it s not the easiest digging

Parking is easy early in the morning :) and lots of beaches to choose from

Super! It seems you are in the know about those torpedo magnets. What is their story? I found some but I do not have a clue what they are for.

I don't know about those but they remind me of a cow belly magnet. They put them down a cows throat into their belly and it keeps pieces of metal from going into the intestinal tract. This way it stays in the stomach longer and gets dissolved with out causing harm in the gut. They are usually the shape of a pill capsule and around two inches long and about as big around as a nickle. The metal they are made of seems to be stainless steel on the outside. In any case the stomach acid doesn't seem to bother them.

REAL_RAT_FINK' answer seems to describe what I have. Thanks.
