KT still came up with one keeper....a nice clean 87 Ken....scarcer than silver in reality! It is in a tube communing with the few others from last year KT recovered!
“ The 1987 Kennedy Half Dollars are considered anomalies in numismatics. Unlike other Kennedy circulation issue coins, the 1987 Kennedy Half Dollars issued by the Philadelphia and Denver Mints were never released into circulation and were only placed into United States Mint Uncirculated Sets”

Royal thanks for the educational info, GroundSweeper! There were also only about 25% in numbers minted compared to other years...until 2002. This also explains why every one KT recovers looks very nice!

Yes, and believe it or not, over the years, KT has recovered a few of those 87 proofs! Who in the world would break a Proof Set and spend that money?? Non-coin collectors for certain!
