Hello,
I'm relatively new. 45 years old, My 11 year old got me into metal detecting when he found a 1790s flat button in our yard on 3rd hole dug using ACE250.
I now have an AT MAX.

Thanks for joining us. Here's a high-five 
for your eleven-year-old! I know from experience that it's great to have a detecting buddy in the family, and yours has already made a fantastic find! Both detectors you mentioned are capable machines. Also - as a side note - your son did well to begin detecting in your own yard, because this allows for practice in digging and filling nice, neat plugs (holes). Together, the two of you are off to a good start!
