We have a White's Prizm III which is used at work to help locate buried ferrous survey marks. However, the LCD screen no longer works, at all. The detector turns on ok, the buttons still work, and it seems to be making the right noises, but the LCD screen stays off. I'm told that the front housing bacame dislodged at one time and it seems that the strip connector for the LCD screen was damaged. I had an old buddy electrician have a peek. He doesn't have much to do with metal detectors, but that was his diagnosis. Anyway, he suggested I trawl the interweb for a replacement. I can't find anything anywhere. Does anyone know the specs? Is it a generic part, or would it be a specific part for White's metal detectors? I never used the device when it was fully functioning, so might have to read the manual and experiment. We intend to purchase a new detector regardless, but wondering if it possible, or worth it, to resurrect the old one. Any advice?
