i can't seem to find any specifications online that say what RPM tumblers run at. i'm in the process of trying to throw some things together and build one, but i'm wondering what speed should i be running it at? my container will be 4 inches in diameter .
the motor i'm using has it's own gearbox built right onto it and the final shaft has an RPM of 60. the motor itself is 40 watts, and 2.3 amps, so there's more than enough power there to tumble a full load. ;)

my container will be fastened right on that shaft (but detachable), no pulleys or belts to mess with (and break, lol). is 60 RPM going to be too fast to tumble coins and small relics?? would the addition of a couple of small "fins" inside of my container (like in a cement mixer) be of any added use to make things tumble better..??
your thoughts...? :?:

thanks,

Pete
