new place to hunt

I have been given permission by a friend to MD around a 200 year old cabin that she owns. I have not seen it or the property yet. Where do you begin with such a promising place. Would you set your detector for all metal or what? Start around house and work outward? Any suggestions?

hi there fellow newbie,sounds like a cool spot to hunt . I have a good book by Dick Stout where to find treasure i will look in there and sene a new poast in afew min. SRG.
 
I am back,here is his list of 25places where to begin to look for a cache?fire place loose stones,
front porch,root cellars,large trees,fence posts,
hollow door/window sils,floor boards,old autos
barns/out buildings with in site of house,out house
planters,attics,in cellars,food and other containers
wood piles,chickn coop,hay lofts,hollowed stairs
pipes dranage systems,treestumps,side walk stones, farm equipment,barns lofts beams
marker stoneslight poasts lanterns. and then goes on to say what if I lived here? hope this helps! sounds like you you need a hand :!:
