Found an antique copper button, unsure of age

Anyone that might have an idea of how old this is? :o

It bears the symbol of an anchor which happens to be my towns/municipalitys symbol.

Cool button! I am no button expert but it is a flat button so I would guess mid 1800 or older??
 
That symbol has me curious..the looped pin..like a hitch..livery?.. wagon freight or stage driver? Just guessing ...the pin looks like modern ones..see that style often...all kinds of uses to fasten things temporarily..shafts..etc..cool old button

Either way I think this button might be really old due to the place I found it, which was the edge of a field.

I'm thinking it was back when the water level was alot higher and someone dropped it while stepping off a boat or something.

That's my guess at least, probably wrong :-P
